The federal government has announced a Rs14 per litre reduction in high-speed diesel (HSD) prices, effective from December 16, 2025. This change aims to provide targeted relief to industries reliant on diesel, including transport, agriculture, and other sectors. The new diesel price is Rs265.65 per litre, down from Rs279.65.
However, petrol prices remain unchanged at Rs263.45 per litre, offering stability for motorists in the coming fortnight. The government’s decision follows the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and considers global oil trends and exchange rate movements.
This price revision is expected to reduce costs for goods transportation and farm operations, crucial for sectors that heavily depend on diesel fuel.
