ISLAMABAD: On August 26, 2018 a PTI MPA Ali Muhammad Khan tweeted in the defense of Imran Khan using a helicopter. He flew in a chopper to his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad from Prime Minister house.

The issue was highlighted for the very first time in a local newspaper this week by a senior journalist and analyzer Salim Safi. He wrote about the Imran Khan’s use of a helicopter for the travel between his office and his residence in his day-to-day column.

It reached the mainstream media that very day. This prompted an intense argument between PTI and other party representatives on social and mainstream media. The contradiction between Imran Khan and party’s call for simplicity and the random use of a chopper triggered the social media users.

While the PTI supporters, holding the loyalty flag, kept defending the inconsistencies of the party Chairman, others kept questioning the contradictions between the Prime Minister’s words and deeds.

Despite the backlash and exploitation of his words, Saleem Safi stood by his column. He refused to take back any of his words. Supporter or not, everyone demanded an explanation from Khan or his representatives about the helicopter issue.

When the things got out of control, to end the backlash and social abuse, PTI MNA Ali Muhammad Khan finally addressed the issue on his official Twitter account, thus by also confirmed the news. He justified the action by stating three reasons.
It was cheaper, more safe and secure to fly instead of blocking the roads, says the MNA.
He mentioned the Party chairman and wrote a fair list in his defense.
“Those unduly criticising PM @ImranKhanPTI for the use of Helicopter from PMhouse2Banygala must know that (1) Using Heli for 3min Fly is more CHEAPERfuel consumption wise considering at least 5to7 vehicles of necessary Security to be used instead 2) More SAFE and 3). No Traffic BLOCKAGE,” he tweeted.
