Grant Bradburn appointed as new fielding coach by PCB

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday appointed Grant Bradburn as the new fielding coach of the National cricket team. On a full-time basis for a period of three years (subject to review).

Grant Bradburn who hails from New Zealand will join the green shirts in UAE for the Asia Cup. To help them overcome their fielding weaknesses during the tournament.

Sharing his views on occupying this post, Grant said that it is an honour for him to work with Pakistan’s experienced coaching staff. That is headed by Mickey Arthur who is a man with great presence of mind as the coach.

“I am really looking forward to work with the men in green. To exhibit worthy changes to their fielding performance,” Grant said.

Moreover, he said that the Pakistan cricket team has progressed exceptionally. Under the supervision of Mickey Arthur who changed the culture of the team completely.

“Mickey has done a great job to take the Pakistan team on the next level. And hopefully, with my addition, it will help him to take his vision further,” he said.

Grant is also optimistic that his experience and new plans will help the players. He can help increase their stamina and fitness level.

“I will try to adjust in the team’s environment and to add my experience to it,”

Grant is a former New Zealand cricketer who played seven Tests. And 11 one day Internationals in his eleven years career from 1990 to 2001.

In April 2014, he took charge of Scotland cricket team as the coach with a major assignment to prepare them for World Cup 2015.

He also coached New Zealand A and U-19 sides.

Pakistan is to feature in the Asia Cup starting from September 15 in UAE containing six teams including India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Qualifier—yet to be decided.
